How do I install Kynetik?
Install Kynetik directly from the BigCommerce App Marketplace. Search for 'Kynetik' or click the 'Install App' button on our website. The app will automatically connect to your store.
What devices are supported?
Kynetik works on iPhones (iOS 15+) and Android devices (Android 10+). For Tap to Pay, you need an iPhone XS or later, or an Android device with NFC support.
How does Tap to Pay work?
Tap to Pay uses your device's built-in NFC reader to accept contactless payments. Customers tap their card, phone, or watch on your device. Payments are processed through Stripe.
What payment methods are accepted?
We support contactless credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash. Card-present transactions have lower processing fees than online.
Does the app work offline?
Yes! Product catalog and prices are cached locally on your device. You can continue processing sales offline, and orders will sync automatically when you're back online.
How does inventory sync work?
Inventory updates in real-time via webhooks. When a sale is made online or in-store, stock levels update across all channels within seconds. The POS also checks stock at your specific location before each sale.
Can I have multiple locations?
Yes! The Pro plan supports unlimited locations. Each location can have its own inventory, devices, and staff. Stock is tracked per-location.
How do staff log in?
Staff use a 4-6 digit PIN for fast login. PINs are securely stored as hashed values. For sensitive actions like refunds, staff may be prompted for an OTP sent to their email.
Can I send digital receipts?
Yes! You can send receipts via email, SMS, or both. Receipts include order details, your store branding, and a link to view the order online.
What are the processing fees?
We don't charge transaction fees on top of Stripe's rates. You pay Stripe's standard card-present rates (typically 2.7% + 5c per transaction in the US). Check Stripe's pricing for your region.
